Yesterday, our IB seniors presented their CAS projects in a TOKish manner. We set it up as a gallery style presentation. Community members, parents and staff were invited to come in and learn about the different CAS projects conducted.
Students had a variety of activities ranging from:
Crochet Club...book marks for elementary school students
ROC Foundation (non-profit) giving school supplies to a school in Cameroon
Care packages for expectant mother's in a rural town in El Salvador
Mentoring middle school students who are interested in STEM
A teenlife blog filled with resources
Preparation for Disability Awareness Week
The students were well-spoken and were able to articulate the CAS outcomes their projects met in addition to explaining and describing how the ways of knowing were infused in the experience.
I constantly peruse the appsgonefree and the like looking for deals. I store the apps in my apps to try hoping that I will find an occasion to use it. I came across an app called PicPlayPost.
What I liked about this app is its ability to combine both pictures and videos in a very dynamic presentation that can then be shared through social media or email.
Here is a sample and I will definitely be using this again:
