30 Day Blog Challenge: Day Twelve: 5 Year Vision

How do you envision your teaching changing over the next five years?

I am hoping to shape my vision over the next five years by making a segue from coordinating and classroom teaching to educational technology.  I am a tech enthusiast and share that passion through the successful integration of technology not only in my classroom, but through how I coordinate the IB Program at my school.  I spent 3 years in our district's own grant-funded Sharing Technology with Educators Program (affectionately known as STEP).

STEP Year One:  Document Camera, Web Cam, and Digital Camera

STEP Year Two:  Google Products (docs, forms, slides)

STEP Year Three:  Our STEP Team planned, implemented, and evaluated Teacher use of tech.

After STEP, I applied for another program through district and was part of a cohort called Technology Leadership Academy.  Through TLA, I got a chance to work people throughout the district who share my passion for technology in the classroom.

Although I have years of experience with using technology and delivering tech PD, I am not a certified Instructional Technology Specialist.

Currently, I am enrolled in a program through Columbia University's Teaching College.  It is a certificate program in Global Competence.  I do not see myself going back for another master's degree as I have one in Curriculum and Instruction and also have a Admin One licensure.

I am considering studying and taking the Praxis in this area of certification.

I hope to be doing something in this field and I envision my teaching changing with respect to audience.
