AP/IB Mixer

Today was extremely special.  My colleague and I brought together two 4 unique groups of people in our one school building.

1.  Pre-AP & Pre-IB Students who are currently in 9th and 10th grade

2.  Current AP & IB Students in 11th & 12th Grade

3.  AP & IB Alumni Students who are either just starting college of just finished college

4.  AP & IB Teachers

It was an honor and a privilege to see both current and former students flourishing.  At a time when our students are less than motivated with the approaching holiday, I was glad to feel renewed by the fact that somehow I played a small role in propelling these students forward....to colleges to careers.

Two of our students were supposed to speak at TEDx this past November, but were not able to attend due to some insurmountable obstacles.

One of the students delivered the presentation today in front of 200+ students and teachers about allowing your creativity to thrive, allowing the flames for which you are passionate not to be extinguished and to love what you do.  His partner is actually in Cameroon launching a non-profit organization.....awesome!!

Two additional students talked about the power of having a voice and using that voice for advocacy not only for yourself, but for people who cannot speak up for themselves and for causes that you strongly believe in....strong Latinas who have powerful voices themselves.

4 students of immigrant parents from Cameroon, Nigeria, and El Salvador.....amazing!!

Today is one of those days you store in your memory forever when you feel deflated!!
